WHat IS Smart Start?
Bladen Smart Start – A Partnership for Children, Inc. shares the common concerns and commitments to the welfare and future success of children birth through five years old in Bladen County. As part of the Smart Start statewide early childhood Initiative, Bladen Smart Start brings together various sectors of the community to support young children and families. Bladen Smart Start uses Smart Solutions to customize our services provided to Early Childhood Education (ECE) professionals, child care programs, and families in Bladen County.
- According to the NC Early Childhood Foundation, the first 2000 days are critical to a child’s brain development and future success. There are ONLY 2,000 days between birth and the start of kindergarten. “The early years are so defining that by the time a child turns eight, their third-grade outcomes can predict future academic achievement and career success.” We work to bring together our local and state network of community services on behalf of children and their families to ensure that every child in Bladen County can enter school, healthy and prepared for success.”
